New Moon

Toasting the last weeks of summer!

One more month of hot weather and we’ll be heading into fall, so to get us over that hump, here’s an absolutely delicious late-summer cooler.

Think of this pale green delight as a Gin & Tonic Deluxe. It’s got those two classic summertime ingredients plus triple sec and Rose's Lime Juice, so you get more layers of flavor. And, for those of you who are a little skeptical of gin, it’s less astringent, less gin-ish, than the standard G&T. We like to max out with three ingredients in our cocktails, but this one’s worth the extra trouble – and it isn’t much trouble.

Caution: If you don’t watch it, this one can border on too sweet, so you might want to dial back a little on the triple sec and/or the Rose’s (Rose’s is lime syrup – sweeeeet!) to dry it up. Adjust until you can’t stand not to drink one. That’ll be about right.

New Moon

  • 1.5 oz. gin
  • 1.5 oz. triple sec
  • .5 oz. Rose’s lime juice
  • Tonic water

Mix the first three ingredients and pour into a highball glass with plenty of ice, leaving an inch or so at the top. Fill ‘er up with tonic, give it one stir, and start sipping. Smooth and soothing. You’ll love it!
